Children's Library Services Section

This section actively participates and shows scholarly interest in the activities of the Catholic Library Association relating to children’s libraries, both school and public. It promotes communication and mutual support among children’s librarians and the enhancement of library service to children through education, cooperation, and the exchange of ideas.  Its benefits include:

–       Listserv open to members and nonmembers of the Catholic Library Association who share an interest in children’s literature and children’s library service

–       Regina Medal awarded annually to recognize the body of work of a living individual or couple whose contributions to the field of children’s literature exemplify the idea that, in the words of Walter de la Mare, “Only the rarest kind of best can be good enough for the young.”

–      Convention programs pertaining to children’s literature and library services

–       Access to many articles and reviews of children’s books in Catholic Library World

–        Opportunities at convention to obtained signed copies of Regina Medal recipient’s books
