The 2014 Regina Medal winner is author Patricia Reilly Giff, who received the award at a luncheon in her honor on April 23, 2014, at the CLA convention. She is a two-time Newbery Honor winner: Lily’s Crossing (Delacorte, 1997) was honored in 1998 and Pictures of Hollis Woods (Random House/Wendy Lamb Books, 2002) in 2003. She is also the author of the Polk Street School series for younger readers. Read her bio here.

Also at the convention, the Charlotte Decker Memorial Award was given to Rose Marie Anthony, O.P. Sister Rose Marie was honored for her service as vice-chair, chair, and past chair of the Children's Section from 1996-2001. This was a difficult time for the Section, and Sister was instrumental in bringing new people onto the board. Before that, she assumed the chair position as a mid-term replacement. She was also very active in libraries in Wisconsin and is a past president of the Wisconsin chapter of CLA.
