Dr. Ansel Augustine

Ansel Augustine

Dr. Ansel Augustine is the Director of the Office of Black Catholic Ministries for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. He has worked in ministry throughout the country for over 25 years, but recently returned to his hometown of New Orleans. He has worked in Youth, Young Adult, Campus, and Multicultural Ministries in various capacities. He is on the faculty at Loyola University New Orleans, Graduate Theological Foundation, and Xavier University of Louisiana's Institute for Black Catholic Studies. Dr. Augustine has also been very active in prison ministry. He has presented and written various pieces related to ministry, most recently, his book, Leveling the Praying Field: Can the Church We Love, Love Us Back was a top release on Amazon. Patrick Hayes, Ph.D., Archivist, Redemptorist Archives, Philadelphia

Patrick Hayes

Patrick J. Hayes is the archivist for the Redemptorists in the United States, a position he's held since 2008. A scholar of religion in America, Hayes is the author or editor of six books and dozens of articles and essays in church history. He serves on the board of managers of the American Catholic Historical Society and the executive committee of the American Catholic Historical Association. In 2021 he was appointed to coordinate the ACHA's SHARP grant on Native American Boarding Schools--in initiative to bring together historians, archivists, and Native American leaders to foster conversation and collaboration.

 

Michael R. Heinlein

Michael Heinlein

Michael R. Heinlein is editor of Simply Catholic. He has a degree in theology from The Catholic University of America and is the former editor of The Catholic Answer magazine. Experienced in parish ministry and high school teaching, Michael is a frequent contributor to Our Sunday Visitor and The Priest magazine. Michael is also the author of several OSV booklets and pamphlets, including “Go, Therefore, and Make Disciples: Missionary Saints in the Church” and “Saints in Times of Crisis.” He is also author of a forthcoming children’s book series on theology and a forthcoming biography of Cardinal Francis E. George, O.M.I. Most important to him is his role as husband and father.
