Xavier University of Louisiana, a historically Black and Catholic University, seeks an enthusiastic professional for the position of Reference and Instruction Librarian. This is a 12-month non-tenure-track faculty position. This individual will be responsible for providing reference services and innovative library instruction and information literacy programs in support of a Learning Commons next-generation environment. A Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution is required as well as a strong commitment to public service, information literacy and distance education library services; effective oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; and a commitment to working in a diverse environment. Experience in instruction and/or professional experience in an academic library is preferred.
